2024-25 Budget Challenge
At our March 12 Board Meeting, we shared a proposal with our Board of Directors to address the $35 million budget shortfall we face next year. The board approved the proposal and we will begin to notify the impacted staff.

International Baccalaureate and Science Math and Technology applications are still open
We are still accepting applications for two high school Programs of Choice: the International Baccalaureate Program (Columbia River) and the Science Math and Technology Program (Skyview).

New Immunization Recordkeeping
Beginning this month, Vancouver Public Schools will begin using the School Module to manage student immunization records. School Module is an online system provided by the Washington State Department of Health that will help us quickly check if your child has the vaccines required for school. Using the School Module will save time and allow our nurses to spend more time providing support to students.
If your child was born and/or vaccinated in Washington, their information is likely already in the system. You can access your child's record anytime by signing up for MyIR at https://myirmobile.com.

Read Across America
 Last week, students at VPS elementary schools participated in the National Education Association’s (NEA) Read Across America, joining the nation’s largest celebration of reading.
First-grade students, their families and younger siblings are invited to a “Beaches, Bites and Books” themed event at their school. Families were served breakfast and each student received a book. Events were hosted at 25 school locations and welcomed nearly 1,800 participating students.
We would like to thank our community partners for making this program possible through their generous donations. Breakfast was provided and served by Beaches Restaurant. Riverview Bank and WellPoint funded the purchase of a book for each student through the Foundation for VPS. |
